ABINGTON – The endorsed Libertarian Party gubernatorial candidate Ken Krawchuk and his running mate John Thomas will be kicking off their 2026 race for Pennsylvania Governor at high noon on the Harrisburg Capitol steps on Saturday, May 16th. The public and media are invited to attend this free event. Starting at 3 PM, a post-rally party will be held at Duke’s Riverside Grille across the river in nearby Wormleysburg. Tickets are available here.
“I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore!” Krawchuk exclaimed when asked why he is running. “When more than half our kids can’t read or do math at grade level, when the cost of our government keeps rising at more than three times the rate of inflation for over 50 years, when property taxes are forcing our seniors out of their homes, who WOULDN’T be mad as hell? But when I’m governor, every child will receive a private education, all tax increases will be vetoed, and property tax will be eliminated!”
Running with Krawchuk as Lieutenant Governor is John Thomas of Kittanning. “Pennsylvania has a unique opportunity this election cycle,” according to Thomas. “Dissatisfaction with the two major parties is higher than your gas prices or your property taxes. People are fed up. Ken and I give a voice to the frustrated, and a course-correction for our Commonwealth.”
Krawchuk and Thomas were nominated at the annual Libertarian Party state convention in Warminster in March. Video of Krawchuk’s nomination acceptance speech is available here.
Ken Krawchuk of Abington is an Information Technology entrepreneur, a patented inventor, a Philadelphia talk show host, an award-winning Toastmaster, and an author. He has previously appeared on the gubernatorial ballot three times, facing Tom Ridge in 1998, Ed Rendell in 2002, and Tom Wolf in 2018, setting consecutive Libertarian Party records for vote totals in each race. He and his wife Roberta are celebrating their 49th wedding anniversary this month, and have three daughters and four grandchildren (so far)
John Thomas is a Cyber School educator. He was the Libertarian Party candidate for U.S. Senate in 2024, placing third in a field of five, and receiving more than enough votes to qualify the Libertarians as a political party in Pennsylvania.
Founded in 1971, the Libertarian Party is the third largest political party in the state and the nation, with over 200 elected and appointed officials currently serving in office in Pennsylvania, and many more nationwide. Libertarians are fiscally conservative and socially liberal, and like the Founding Fathers, Libertarians believe that you have the inalienable right to conduct your life as you see fit, without interference, so long as you respect the rights and property of others. It’s the Golden Rule on a political level.
