Lionville, PA – Ken Krawchuk, the Libertarian Party candidate for Governor, today blasted Pennsylvania’s Proposed Regulation 10-242 which, if passed, would empower Department of Health (DoH) officials to violate the 4th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution and Article I Section 8 of the Pennsylvania Constitution.

“Hey, I’ve seen this movie before!” Krawchuk declared at a local gathering. “We were forced to watch it in 2020, and this proposed sequel looks to be worse than the original, with its broader ‘disease control measures’ that authorize DoH agents to enter your home or any health-care facility, school, college, or ‘other location’ all without a warrant, not to mention speaking with students in private without parental consent, creating a statewide vaccine reporting database, even imposing possible limits on funeral attendance! Yep, it’s the same old plot from 2020, just as broad, just as unconstitutional, and just as bad.

“Who do they think they are, resurrecting rules for ‘Shutdown 2.0’? We Pennsylvanians already voted in 2021 to put strict checks on emergency declarations like this. The Supreme Court already limited the DoH’s use of this sort of catch-all control rules, too. But this proposal tries to get around both. The existing rules already allow for investigation of cases and outbreaks, so officials do not need this new blank check over our homes, classrooms, and private medical files.

“Fortunately, the proposal is not yet law. We The People have until September 21 to give feedback to smack these rogue politicians and bureaucrats back in line with what the people and the courts have already declared. “Looks like I’ll have to dust off the 2020 version of the Pennsylvania State Anthem that I penned during the last mismanaged pandemic. I thought I’d never need it again, but it appears I was wrong. The song is still out on the web at YouTube. It’s déjà vu all over again. Listen and weep. Then ‘Just Say No’ to this new bureaucratic tyranny.”

Ken Krawchuk, an information technology entrepreneur, patented inventor, author, award-winning Toastmaster, and Philadelphia talk show host, has previously appeared on Pennsylvania’s gubernatorial ballot three times, setting Libertarian Party records for vote totals in each campaign.

Running mate John Thomas is a cyber school educator and was the Libertarian Party nominee for U.S. Senate in 2024, helping the party regain political party status in Pennsylvania through his statewide vote total.
